Program description:

This is a Global Prep summer camp program where subjects such as language/cultural skills and science are combined with challenging and creative profile courses. The participants will take part in social activities, excursions and cook and dine together. In addition to the AFS participants there will be a large number of international and Danish young people at the Summer camp. The Summer camp will therefore provide ample opportunities for sharing intercultural experiences and exploring exciting and challenging activities together with young people from all over the world, taking part in exiting intercultural activities together with Danish and international participants.

Program Description:

Enjoy your summer by spending time with a Finnish host family. Explore our nature, get to know Finnish culture, discover the sauna and much more!

Intensive Home Stay Program participants spend the program with their host families, either at their home, or at the summer house, “mökki,” in the countryside. “Mökki” is a summer staple for many, and Finns love relaxing in nature during the summer. The home stay program is a perfect way to experience the special summer of the northern Europe. Our long, light summer nights and pleasant temperatures guarantee a perfect setting for all kinds of summer activities, and our accessible forests, clean rivers and thousands of lakes always provide new places to explore! Living with a Finnish host family will give students a chance to discover Finnish culture first-hand and to immerse themselves in a new kind of family life for an enriching cultural experience. This program include two orientations. Orientation camp takes place in Helsinki in the beginning and at the end of the program. Otherwise students will live with their host families all around Finland.

Program Description:

Language, Culture and Homestay. Five weeks in Italy 3 of which are spent with a host family

On arrival students will be met by volunteers who will assist them in the transfer by bus from the airport to the hotel/hostel where they will have the Arrival Orientation. During the first evening the participants will also receive an overview of the entire program and they will be given detailed information regarding the Language & Cultural Camp in Tuscany. The volunteers that will welcome the students in Rome will stay with them for the whole week in Tuscany. Over the next five days, the students will have a full program of activities focused on Italian traditions in music, cuisine, art and culture, as well as attend Italian lessons. Various excursions to well-known Tuscany towns with their unique historical, artistic and naturalistic beauties have been organized for the group. Don’t forget to bring a swimsuit! At the end of the camp, the participants will travel to their host families where they will join them in all their normal everyday life and activities. Participants will meet all together once again at the end of the program in Rome, where they will spend 3 days visiting the city and having the opportunity to evaluate their stay in Italy, together with students of various countries. The visits to the “Eternal City”, will include the amazing ruins of the “Fori Imperiali” in the centre of Rome, the Coliseum, the Vatican City, St. Peter’s Cathedral, and many other famous Roman sites of historical interest.
